Support for Agencies Struggling with Employee Retention

Employee recruitment and retention is one of the most important issues facing service systems throughout the nation. Since COVID-19 upended the world in 2020, what was a significant challenge is fast becoming a crisis. Across the country, inadequate staffing has required dedicated professionals to work exhausting hours in order to prevent disruptions in supports, while in some settings staffing vacancies present significant risks to staff and service recipient safety. Consequently, finding ways to retain and develop quality employees has never been more urgent.

Research into this issue is very clear. For employees to remain in their positions over time – contributing to the stability of the agency and to the people they serve – they must feel valued, be heard and included, and have a shared vision of their work by which they derive meaning.

Many of you know Mark Bernstein as a dynamic and knowledgeable Therapeutic Options™ Master Instructor, but before he came to train for us, he already had a long history researching and presenting on topics vital to behavioral health and human services. This included job satisfaction, employee retention, and the organizational practices that best ensure them.

Now that Mark has scaled back his activities with us, he has renewed his passion for supporting agencies by providing employee satisfaction surveys, leadership development training, and motivational techniques. Please contact Mark at m.mjbernstein@verizon.net or 610-639-3389 to learn how he can help your agency.
